Disporum longistylum 'Night Heron' (long-styled disporum 'Night Heron') is a member of the Colchicaceae family. This perennial exhibits a columnar upright growth habit and is characterised by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy (very cold winter [-20 to -15ºc]) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe, with many plants grown in containers becoming damaged unless given protection. It features a flower fragrance.
When fully mature, Disporum longistylum 'Night Heron' can reach an ultimate height of 1.5–2.5 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers an east–facing, north–facing, or west–facing aspect and a sheltered position. It thrives best in clay or loam soil types and should be placed in partial shade.
