Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' (hydrangea 'Annabelle') is a member of the Hydrangeaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterised by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy (very cold winter [-20 to -15ºc]) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe, with many plants grown in containers becoming damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' can reach an ultimate height of 1.5–2.5 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a south–facing, north–facing, west–facing, or east–facing aspect and an exposed or sheltered position. It thrives best in clay, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
