Rhododendron 'Catawbiense Grandiflorum' (rhododendron 'Catawbiense Grandiflorum') is a member of the Ericaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterised by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of very hardy (colder than -20ºc) and is hardy in the severest European continental climates, including exposed upland locations in the UK.
When fully mature, Rhododendron 'Catawbiense Grandiflorum' can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a north–facing or west–facing aspect and a sheltered position. It thrives best in clay, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in partial shade.
